(R) Rescued Treasures

One of my favorite pastimes and great joys in life is finding cast off treasures or second hand items and "re-love" them. If I had a hundred dollars to spend, I wouldn't head to Macy's or Ruth's Steak House or some designer shoe store. I'd be digging in the dust and cobwebs of some barn sale, thrift shop, or weekend flea market.
Over time I've collected some things that I consider valuable- if for no other reason but that they make me happy.
Yard sales, Goodwill, second-hand stores- here is a photo album of a few of my rescued treasures...

That's an eclectic collection. Found items have so much more character than shiny new things.

I love antique stores, but I haven't had much luck with yeard sales. I've looking for an old rotary phone for a while now.

GREAT finds

Somewhere, Rae, we were separated from the family tree~!! I love, love, love to rescue items that make me feel like I am savin' them from disaster~!! Now --- this is the creepy part...I have little chairs too that I have collected, guess that I will take them from the storage piles and hang them..Had them hung once, but then moved...SO love the pinkish bottle?..Whatever it is , it is cool! and the pic above the candle, what an intriguing face~!! Well, now I must (this weekend), dig out those chairs...*sigh*..Now to post for my blog...See you at "S" for *sigh*???

Hi!
I love yard sales and flea markets. You find some amazing stuff there. Love your wall of chairs. What a great idea for displaying them. Have a great day!

I really like the photo with the telephone and the lamp.

I've never had the patience or skillful eye for bargain shopping like that. My wife probably wouldn't want me bringing used stuff into the house anyway. She prefers new stuff that's made in China, but she doesn't like Chinese people or Chinese food. I guess stuff made in China is all you can find if you want something new. Hmmm-- Chinese carryout for my lunch sounds kind of good.

I've seen postings from people with a wall of chairs or other seating items. I love it! Thanks Rae.

I'm with you! I'd take a barn sale, flea market, antique store any time over the mall! You have some wonderful treasures. I especially like the little chairs you hung on the wall and the quilted horse on wheels. Great treasures. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Amen girlfriend! I'll take the flea any day...I think I'm actually allergic to malls *winks* Love all your found treasures! What may I ask is that thing with the rickshaw? Is it a tin? Whatever the case may be I LOVE it! Vanna

I love to find something time worn and make it new or find a way to add it to my life! Fun post~ I did go thrifting today; no big scores, but had fun!
