Dear Mom

"To send a letter is a good way to go somewhere without moving anything but your heart. " ~Phyllis Theroux

"   The word that is heard perishes, but the letter that is written remains."    Proverbs

January 8-14 is National Letter Writing Week.
Hand written letters are truly a lost art. I become sad to think of all the correspondence that is now deleted from email accounts and abandoned on social websites. Or that some feelings are never even expressed because people no longer know how to write a letter from the heart.
This week I am writing five letters. Some funny. Some sad. But all to bring attention to this lost art.
Pick up a pen and join me, wont' you?

"We lay aside letters never to read them again, and at last we destroy them out of discretion, and so disappears the most beautiful, the most immediate breath of life, irrecoverable for ourselves and for others. " ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

I am speechless...I can't find the words. Oh there goes a tear again.

What a beautiful love letter. Rae, you are such a weaver of words and you always take my breath away.

I can still hear my dad's voice and the echo in my memory still fills my heart with such a fierce ache. We are lucky to have had a good parent in our life.

Extraordinary letter.

I cannot remember the last letter I received through the postal service. I have received some cards from you and Tina and they have been such a pleasure to receive!

I write the occasional letter but now it is thru email. I am thankful for this as my handwriting is not what it use to be. Somedays I can barely read what I have written. Some days my cursive is large...somedays you need a magnifying glass to read it!I have typed the occasional letter,on the keyboard, and printed it off and put in the "Real" mailbox!

I have a few "special" letters saved in my email account. A few of them are from our sister Barb.I need to print these off as I know someday my computer may crash and burn and I will wish that I had saved them!

I loved the letter you shared with us today.I can picture it all in my mind. Let me just add this...P.S. I miss you too Mom! Love,Linda
